FALUN, Sweden (AP) - Akito Watabe of Japan won a Nordic combined World Cup ahead of Olympic gold medalist Joergen Graabak of Norway and third-place Alessandro Pittin of Italy on Saturday.

Watabe earned 127.4 points after ranking second in the jump and fourth in the 10-kilometer cross-country ski race.

The latter was won by Graabak, while Pittin finished 17th in the jump and 2nd in the race.

Germany’s Eric Frenzel, who remained top of the overall standings, ended fourth, while compatriot Johannes Rydzek was seventh.

Frenzel remains untouchable with 1,031 points, far ahead of Rydzek (779) and Watabe (730).
