FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - A Campbellsport man who was convicted in a drunken collision that killed two people has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Action Reporter Media (https://fondul.ac/1kyjUvF ) reports that 25-year-old Daniel Shea issued a tearful apology before he was sentenced Friday.
He told the victims’ relatives and friends he won’t ever be able to say sorry enough. He says he doesn’t expect them to forgive him and he doesn’t think he’ll ever forgive himself.
Shea pleaded guilty to two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. He faced up to 30 years in prison.
Shea told investigators he’d had about nine drinks in a five-hour period in 2012. He says he was probably texting when the collision occurred.
Paul and Joanna Grahl were killed. Their daughter was seriously injured.
