LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Nevada Supreme Court is scheduling a public hearing in May on a state bar association request for rules to protect lawyers who advise clients on medical marijuana issues.
The state high court says it’ll also accept written comments ahead of its May 6 hearing in Carson City.
The Nevada Bar Association last week cited a conflict between federal drug laws and a state medical marijuana law that takes effect April 1.
The state law allows for regulated distribution of medicinal marijuana.
State Bar President Alan Lefebvre (leh-FEE’-ver) says attorneys are concerned that they could face discipline or lose their law license for representing prospective medical marijuana dispensary owners.
