WEIRTON, W.Va. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller is being honored for his work on behalf of steelworkers and the steel industry.

The West Virginia Democrat is scheduled to receive the United Steelworkers’ Lifetime Achievement Award on Monday in Weirton. Rockefeller also will receive the Cold Finished Steel Bar Institute’s “Man of Steel” Award.

Rockefeller plans to discuss the legacy of West Virginia’s steelworkers and the industry, along with their future, during the event.
