DETROIT (AP) - The Wayne County medical examiner’s office has identified a woman who was one of two pedestrians killed by a hit-and-run driver.
The man and woman were crossing a west-side street about 10:30 p.m. Friday when the car hit them, then drove off.
The medical examiner’s office tells The Detroit News that the woman was 44-year-old Kathy Lewis. The office earlier identified the man as 56-year-old Wayne Sanders.
Investigators say they no longer believe that the killings may have been deliberate. They’ve been searching for the driver and say the car was light-colored and possibly a Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix.
