PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Three people face sex trafficking charges in Maine, accused of exploiting a 19-year-old girl and requiring her to engage in commercial sex acts with strangers.

Police said the girl was taken to multiple locations in Cumberland, York and Androscoggin counties for the purpose of having sex. She fled from the defendants when she was told she might be sold to a “pimp” from Boston.

Arrested in Gorham on Monday were 27-year-old Klein Fernandes, 34-year-old Tamika Dias and 31-year-old Jeremy Seeley. They are scheduled to appear in court in Portland on Wednesday.
