HILLS, Iowa (AP) - An early morning fire at a veterinary clinic near Iowa City has killed two animals.

Fire crews say they responded to a call early Tuesday about a fire at Animal Haven Veterinary Hospital in Hills. A dog and a cat, the only animals in the building at the time, were killed.

Fire crews from several departments responded to the scene and contained the fire within about 40 minutes. No injuries were reported.

Veterinarian Mark Dennis, who opened the clinic, tells the Iowa City Press-Citizen (https://icp-c.com/1lLzwvG ) that little is salvageable from the fire. An official cause has not been released.
