CLARENCE, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 51-year-old woman has died from injuries suffered in a fire at a suburban Buffalo apartment that claimed the life of a 45-year-old man.
Troopers say Denise Hackrott died at a Buffalo hospital Monday, a day after the fire broke out in a second-floor apartment in a building that had housed a first-floor consignment shop in the town of Clarence.
Police say Charles Deppa died in Sunday night’s fire. Hackrott had been listed in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center.
Troopers say the fire started after a stove was left unattended in the apartment’s kitchen.
