LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Chennault International Airport has decided not to host airshow this year.

Randy Robb, president of the airshow’s board of directors and Chennault’s executive director, said Monday that the nonprofit organization needs more time to gather resources and recruit committee members before the airshow will return.

Robb tells the American Press (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) the organization spent $350,000 on last year’s airshow and has about $20,000 remaining.

Robb says the organization will give some money to Sowela Technical Community College and some to the Calcasieu Parish School Board for aviation programs, and retain about $10,000 for seed money for the next airshow.
