LANGHORNE, Pa. (AP) - A fire in a suburban Philadelphia home has claimed the lives of a husband and wife.

Emergency dispatchers in Bucks County said the blaze in Middletown Township was reported shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials said 66-year-old Raymond Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene. His 65-year-old wife Caroline Jenkins was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where she died.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire investigators said the blaze started in the basement but there were no working smoke detectors in the two-story home.
