LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Southeast Community College and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission are offering a new class called Fishing Fundamentals.

The class lasts four weeks. It’s aimed at teaching families about equipment, fish species and how to catch them, regulations and fishing spots. Instructors will accompany groups on field trips to fishing areas.

Courses are scheduled at campuses in Lincoln, York and Wahoo. Classes in Lincoln and York will meet on Tuesday evenings beginning April 8. Classes in Wahoo will meet on Thursday evenings beginning April 10. Classroom sessions are scheduled to run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Field trips will take place on April 26. Fishing permits are required.
