HOLLIDAYBURG, Pa. (AP) - A worker at state-run veterans’ home in central Pennsylvania has been convicted of stealing a television that belonged to a resident who died a week earlier.

The Altoona Mirror (https://bit.ly/1gGeUEy ) reports 46-year-old Lisa Carey continued to deny stealing the TV after a Blair County jury convicted her.

Carey testified she took a cardboard box for a television from the home, which she used to carry items when she moved from one residence to another.

But another worker testified the box wasn’t empty, but contained a TV when Carey, of Altoona, carried it from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in February 2013.

The home about 85 miles east of Pittsburgh is run by the Pennsylvania Department of Veterans and Military Affairs. Officials there didn’t immediately comment on the verdict or Carey’s employment status.
