SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Unbeaten Madison outscored Tri-Valley 21-7 in the first quarter and coasted to a 67-38 win Thursday in the first round of the South Dakota Class A boys basketball tournament.

Trae VandeBerg provided the offense for the Bulldogs (23-0) with 33 points. VandeBerg was 13-for-17 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line. He had three of Madison’s five 3-pointers.

VandeBerg was the only Madison player in double figures, but nine players scored points. Rush Milne had nine points and seven rebounds.

Nick Buchmann, Brandon Boomsma and Joseph Newman had six points each for Tri-Valley (12-12).
