CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Garret McCarty scored nine of his 17 points during a 13-0 fourth-quarter run to lead Charleston Catholic to a 50-38 win over Notre Dame in the Class A quarterfinals Friday.

Third-seeded Charleston Catholic (21-6) advanced to the championship game for the third straight year and the 10th time in 15 seasons. It lost to Tug Valley last year.

Notre Dame trailed 20-12 at halftime but got 10 points from Cal Cistaro in the third quarter and led 35-31 early in the fourth.

But Charleston Catholic then went on its decisive run and its zone trap limited Notre Dame to five points in the period.

Charleston Catholic’s Patrick Hurlihy added 13 points while Nick George scored 10.

Cistaro finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for second-seeded Notre Dame (21-5).
