DENVER (AP) - A man accused of killing a couple who hired him to work as a housekeeper is back in Colorado to face first-degree murder charges.

A grand jury indicted Daryl Rasmussen in the 2011 beating deaths in December and he was extradited from Texas, where he was being held on a parole violation. He was advised of the charges against him during a court appearance Friday.

Prosecutors say Rasmussen was homeless when Ronald Ford and Ramiro Sanchez hired him to be a housekeeper and caregiver to Sanchez, who was disabled, in 2010. The bodies of Ford and Sanchez were found a week apart in their home in February 2011.

Rasmussen is also accused of using the couple’s credit cards and identities after their deaths.

He’s scheduled to enter a plea May 12.
