ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Halo Dolly led all the way in winning the $100,000 Dream of Summer Stakes for older fillies and mares bred or sired in California by 1 ½ lengths at Santa Anita on Sunday.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Halo Dolly ran 1 mile in 1:35.73 and paid $7.60, $2.60 and $2.20 as the 5-2 second choice.

“She came away so good, he just went on with it,” said Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who co-owns the winner. “That’s why we pick the riders we do, so they can make good decisions.”

Unusual Way returned $2.10 and $2.10 as the 1-2 favorite after stumbling leaving the gate, while Could Be Trouble was another 6 ¾ lengths back in third and paid $2.60 to show.
