GWAR frontman Dave Brockie, who went by the stage name Oderus Urungus, was found dead Sunday in his Richmond, Va., home. He was 50.

Richmond police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said officers were called to the home shortly before 7 p.m. for a report of a dead person, the Associated Press reported.

According to TMZ, Mr. Brockie was found sitting upright in a chair.

“There were no drugs found, as far as I know,” a law enforcement source told the website.

Another law enforcement source told TMZ that it was not a suicide and no note was found.

Investigators don’t suspect foul play at this time. The medical examiner’s office will determine cause of death.

GWAR, founded in 1984, released its latest album last year and recently toured Australia and Japan.

Lead guitarist Cory Smoot was found dead on the band’s tour bus in 2011. He was 34.
