TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor will be the first guest for a newly revived public forum series in Tucson.
The Arizona Daily Star reports (https://bit.ly/1do15vK) that O’Connor is scheduled to speak at the Sunday Evening Forum at the Fox Theatre.
The forum was part of the Tucson scene between 1942 and 1984. Each event typically featured artists, politicians, activists and even athletic figures interacting with audiences in an informal setting.
Officials say past speakers included Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy in their pre-presidential days.
Fletcher McCusker, a member of the Tucson group reviving it, says he hopes ther will be at least three events ever year.
The event is free but tickets are required. They will be available at the box office at 4 p.m. Sunday.
