HIGHLANDS, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a man found last week in a central New Jersey waterway is that of a fisherman who went missing last December.

The Asbury Park Press (https://on.app.com/1kYnL5i) reports that Edward Broderick’s body was found Friday near the Captain’s Cove Marina in Highlands. The identification was made public on Monday.

The 39-year-old Sea Bright man had been missing since Dec. 14, when his clamming boat sank. The vessel was later found and identified outside the marina where he originally intended to conclude his trip.

Authorities say the investigation into Broderick’s death is ongoing, but foul play is not suspected.
