ELLISVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A pair of would-be thieves left a west St. Louis County gun shop empty-handed when they found the store’s weapons locked in a safe.

Police say that a surveillance video shows a suspect entering Ruby’s Gun Store early Monday morning by breaking the glass front door while an accomplice waited outside. The burglars initially attempted to use their car to drive into the store, which is protected by the cylindrical concrete barriers known as bollards.

The men left the store after its burglar alarm sounded. Owner Steve Walsh tells KTVI-TV (bit.ly/1rq84HW ) that he locks up the store’s weapons overnight.
