GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A former Green Bay school district teacher is accused of having sexual contact with an 8-year-old student.

Fifty-seven-year-old Jer Lovaj (jehr LOH’-vah) is charged with two felony counts of sexual contact with a child under the age of 13.

Lovaj was an English-as-a-second-language teacher at Anne Sullivan Elementary School in Green Bay.

Press-Gazette Media reports Lovaj is accused of kissing, hugging and groping a girl in his classroom, according to the complaint. The girl disclosed a Feb. 11 incident to two of her teachers, who reported it.

The Green Bay Area Public School District says Lovaj is no longer employed with the district.

Lovaj’s attorney had no comment. Lovaj posted a $50,000 cash bond and was released from jail Tuesday. WLUK-TV reports he’s due back in court next week.
