PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Five juveniles are in custody in connection with an attack near Temple University’s campus that sent a student to the hospital after she was hit in the face with a brick.

Philadelphia police said Tuesday that one juvenile is under arrest and four others are in custody but not yet charged.

Around 6 p.m. Friday, a young couple was assaulted a few blocks off Temple’s campus by a group of boys and girls. The woman, a 19-year-old Temple student, was struck in the face with a brick and nearly lost her teeth.

Police believe two other women were assaulted by the same group within minutes of that attack.

Investigators say there is a significant chance four of the suspects will be charged and one will be a witness.
