NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A northern New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter for fatally shooting another man who had argued with the shooter’s female cousin.
Essex County prosecutors say 25-year-old Anthony Burrows of Newark will likely receive a 17-year prison term when he’s sentenced May 6.
Prosecutors say the shooting occurred in August 2012 in Newark.

They say the victim, Russell Lighten Jr. of Newark, and Burrows’ cousin had argued about a stolen car battery and eventually there was “some physical contact” between the two. Lighten apologized to her, but later that day Burrows shot him.
