PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Prosecutors say three teenagers have been charged in several assaults near Temple University’s north Philadelphia campus, including one that sent a student to the hospital after she was hit in the face with a brick.

The city district attorney’s office said Wednesday that the 15- and 16-year-old suspects are charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy, possession of an instrument of crime, terroristic threats and other counts. They were held in lieu of bail ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 and faced an April 10 hearing.

Police said Tuesday that five juveniles were arrested in the Friday evening assaults. Authorities said a group assaulted a young couple a few blocks from Temple’s campus, hitting a 19-year-old Temple student with a brick, and they believe the same group assaulted two other women within minutes.
