BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - School administrators in Bethel are exploring the idea of rearranging local schools according to grade levels.

KYUK (https://is.gd/b11i8L ) says administrators are in the early stages of studying a change to create a middle school, a high school for grades 9 to 12 and a combined elementary school.

Lower Kuskokwim School District superintendent Jacob Jensen says administrators are just in the exploratory stage and no decision to move forward has been made.

Jensen says the idea was looked at recently at a meeting with parents.

District officials will be looking at possible next steps, including the financial impact of shuffling schools or holding another parent meeting.
