MAPLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - Police say a mail carrier was not harmed during an armed robbery in Maplewood.

The U.S. Postal Service worker was delivering mail on Laurel Avenue when the robbery took place on Tuesday.

Police Capt. Michael Marucci tells The Star-Ledger of Newark (https://bit.ly/1gXVjeW ) the mail carrier was approached by two males who displayed a gun and demanded cash.

Marucci says the suspects fled on foot with the man’s phone and money.
