TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Strong winds will follow a spring snow storm that blanketed parts of southern New Jersey.

The National Weather Service is reporting 6½ inches of snow fell in Cape May, there was 5½ inches in Middle Township, 4 inches at Atlantic City International Airport, little more than an inch in Island Heights and a trace in Freehold.

Northern New Jersey was spared any snow.

Motorists in southern New Jersey are urged to reduce speed and use caution because of icy spots.

Forecasters are predicting northwest winds with gusts of around 50 mph will blast through the state Wednesday.

Those winds could down tree limbs and power lines. They’ll also make it feel colder.
