TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police are looking for a man who assaulted a high school student who was grabbed as she walked to school.

The 18-year-old told police that the man approached her Tuesday near Alta Vista High School on the city’s south side before putting her in a choke hold and telling her not to scream.

The girl screamed anyway and managed to break free. She ran to the school and reported the incident.

A description released by police said the man was a Hispanic male, possibly in his 30s, about 5-foot-7 in height, weighing about 150 pounds and with a scar on his right arm. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

The school sent parents an alert about the assault, which occurred roughly 100 yards from the school.
