CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A California man accused of molesting a 10-year-old Casper girl has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Glynn Howard Johnson entered an Alford plea to third-degree sexual abuse of a minor in the case on Wednesday. An Alford plea doesn’t acknowledge guilt but concedes there is sufficient evidence for a conviction.

The Casper Star-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1jR5K7r ) reports the deal calls for Johnson, a 60-year-old retired law enforcement officer, to be sentenced to probation. The charge will be dismissed if he successfully completes his term.

Johnson’s lawyer had planned to argue at trial that he was unconscious on a mix of Xanax and Ambien when the girl was molested in April 2012. Johnson, a retired law enforcement officer, was staying at her home at the time.
