OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin and Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad are slated to visit a memorial tree garden on the state Capitol grounds donated by Iowans to honor the victims of the 1995 Alfred P. Murrah Building bombing.

The governors will visit the garden Thursday on the state Capitol grounds.

Gov. Branstad was serving an earlier term as Iowa’s governor when the bombing occurred, killing 168 people. He’s in Oklahoma City attending a National Governors Association summit focused on Gov. Fallin’s initiative on education and the workforce.

Gov. Fallin was Oklahoma’s lieutenant governor when the bombing happened.

The Iowa State Horticulture Society planted linden trees representing the adults killed in the bombing and crab apple trees for each child who died.
