THORNTON, Colo. (AP) - Police say two men were shot and critically injured after a confrontation in a northern Denver suburb that might have been over trash dumping.

Thornton police say the shooting occurred Friday. One man was 47 and the other 32. No names have been released.

Police spokesman Matt Barnes tells The Denver Post (https://tinyurl.com/oux6m37) the driver of a pickup followed a sedan to a house in Thornton after observing someone dump trash elsewhere.

Barnes says the driver of the sedan entered a house and a man came out of the house. It wasn’t known if it was the same person.

He says the argument and shootings followed.

The injured pickup driver drove to a fire station, and police found the other man at the scene.

Both were hospitalized.
