SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Marissa Hing had 17 points, 13 from the free-throw line, to lead Pinewood 60-42 past La Jolla Country Day in the California Division V girls’ championship at Sleep Train Arena.

Leeana Bade and Gabi Bade scored 13 points each Friday for the Pinewood Panthers (30-3), who won their sixth state title in eight appearances. The Panthers’ largest margin in the game was 32.

Mariana Ecija had 21 points and Mai-Loni Henson added 10 points and 16 rebounds for the La Jolla Country Day Torreys (20-12), who are 3-4 in the state finals.

Pinewood led 39-13 at the half. The Torreys recorded 18 turnovers to the Panthers’ 5 in the first half, but finished with 26 total turnovers. The Panthers ended up with 11.

The Torreys had only seven available players.
