PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota Tourism Secretary James Hagen is one of 13 new additions to a federal advisory board on travel and tourism.

The 32-member panel offers guidance to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce on national tourism policy. It includes members from across the country, including representatives from public and private sectors

Hagen says he wants to ensure that travel industries in all states are considered in national strategy and policy. He says he looks forward to helping increase travel to and around the country.

The board is working to help the country reach a national goal of attracting 100 million visitors by 2021.
