…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST EARLY

THIS MORNING…

…WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY…

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL

6 AM CST EARLY THIS MORNING. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN

EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS…AREAS OF MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY SNOW

CONTINUE ACROSS THE U.S. 60 CORRIDOR EARLY THIS MORNING.

SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH PER HOUR…AND VISIBILITIES OF LESS

THAN ONE MILE…WILL CONTINUE THROUGH DAYBREAK. IN

ADDITION…TEMPERATURES HAVE FALLEN TO BETWEEN ZERO AND FIVE

DEGREES. WIND CHILLS WILL REMAIN BETWEEN 10 AND 20 DEGREES BELOW

ZERO THROUGH THIS MORNING.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED…SNOW WILL PERSIST THROUGH DAYBREAK.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO THREE INCHES OF SNOW

IS POSSIBLE EARLY THIS MORNING ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE

AREA…ESPECIALLY ALONG AND JUST SOUTH OF U.S. 60.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY…NORTHERLY WIND GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH WILL

RESULT IN SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW. VISIBILITIES MAY

BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES.

* WIND CHILL VALUES…WIND CHILLS WILL BETWEEN 10 AND 20 DEGREES

BELOW ZERO WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THIS MORNING.

* IMPACTS…TRAVEL ACROSS THE REGION HAS BECOME DIFFICULT AND

DANGEROUS. BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW MAY LIMIT THE VISIBILITY

TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES. VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL

RESULT IN A RISK FOR FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA FOR ANYONE

WITHOUT PROPER SHELTER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS

WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN

FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND

GLOVES.
