PHOENIX (AP) - A woman has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in what authorities said was a botched marijuana robbery at a Surprise home in 2013.
Stephanie Rene Conley pleaded guilty Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court, and a judge scheduled her sentencing for April 25.
Conley and Jesse Wade Gillen were arrested in the 2012 death of Shawn Ryan and in an assault on Martin Ridgway.
Authorities say Conley and Gillen were part of a group of people who went to Ridgway’s house to get marijuana.
Ridgway told investigators that Ryan shot at him when Ridgway refused to sell marijuana.
Ryan died in a knife fight with Ridgway.
