NEWRY, Maine (AP) - The final day of the Dumont Cup at Maine’s Sunday River is all about fun, not competition.

With the freeski event over, the focus on Sunday turns to the annual firefighter race, an “eat the heat” chili cook-off and a chili dog eating contest.

Sunday River officials said the weekend event drew the biggest professional roster in the six years of the event, which bears the name of freeskier Simon Dumont, a Bethel native.

Participants included the Team USA’s Slopestyle gold medal trio from the Sochi Olympics: Americans Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy and Nick Goepper. The podium sweep was just the third for the U.S. in Winter Olympics history.
