The Tulsa World reports (https://bit.ly/1iP4EKl ) that the collision occurred Sunday morning when a man and a woman were walking through a construction zone around 2 a.m.

Police say the driver of a gray or black mid-2000s Chevy pickup truck struck them both and fled the scene. Both pedestrians were transported to St. Francis Hospital, where the woman later died. She has not been identified.

While police were at the scene, a Tulsa police officer was injured when another vehicle struck his patrol car. Police say the driver and two passengers were uninjured, but the officer was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for minor head injuries and released.
