ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An Albuquerque man is facing charges after police say he attacked a woman with a hammer.

Police say 57-year-old Michael Dehoney was arrested Saturday following a SWAT call to a northwest Albuquerque home.

According to investigators, Dehoney held the woman against her will. The woman later told officers Dehoney head butted her, beat her with his fists and used a hammer to hit her.

Police say following a standoff, Dehoney came out of the house and was taken into custody.

He is charged with kidnapping and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

It was not known if he had an attorney.
