REDMOND, Ore. (AP) - The Deschutes County sheriff’s office says the skeletal remains of an adult found in a field southeast of Redmond may be someone from a missing person case.

However, Sgt. Brad McMurrian told KTVZ (https://bit.ly/1gduDqr ) investigators couldn’t immediately determine if the person was a man or a woman.

The remains were found Friday by a Redmond resident walking on Deschutes County-owned property across the highway from Redmond Municipal Airport.

The sheriff’s office hopes an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office will be able to determine the identity and cause of death.

Deputies and volunteers with cadaver dogs searched the area Saturday for any more remains or possible evidence.
