HINTON, W.Va. (AP) - Survey teams are planning two mapping projects at the Bluestone Dam in April.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the dam’s downriver side will be mapped on April 4. Water flowing through the dam will be temporarily stopped so the survey can be conducted.

The corps says survey teams also plan to map the shoreline and sediment deposits above the dam. This survey will delay the process of bringing Bluestone Lake up to its summer level for four days.

Crews will slowly open the dam’s gates after the surveys are completed. The corps says a normal water flow will resume by the morning of April 5.
