MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Police in Missoula are investigating the death of a man whose body was found along the railroad tracks.

Sgt. Travis Welsh says a Montana Rail Link employee found the man’s body at about noon Tuesday. Welsh says the man had been dead for more than 24 hours and that his body had been covered in snow.

Welsh tells the Missoulian the man may have been a transient, was known to police and had been in Missoula for about a year.

Welsh says the man’s cause of death hasn’t been determined and it’s too early to determine if foul play was involved. His name was not released.
