CHICAGO (AP) - A 17-year-old Chicago high school student has been struck by a commuter train and killed on the city’s Northwest Side as he made his way to school.

The paper reports that the school’s web site says the student was struck and killed while crossing the tracks on the way to school. The web site also said that grief counselors were meeting with students and staff.

Trains were stopped for about 45 minutes before service was resumed at about 7:35 a.m.
