LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Ledetriha Sheppard scored 24 points as North Caddo dominated the first quarter and led wire-to-wire in an 80-46 win over Doyle in the Class 2A state championship game.

The top-seeded Lady Rebels (35-1) made 11 of 14 field goal attempts in the quarter, starting the game with a 16-2 run and outscoring Doyle 26-11 in the quarter. Sheppard made all five of her attempts in the quarter, scoring 12 points.

Sheppard was named the game’s Most Outstanding Player.

North Caddo outscored Doyle 22-10 in the third quarter to extend its lead to 27 points. Jasmine Thomas scored nine points in the quarter and finished with 23. Summer Williams added 17 points and 14 rebounds for North Caddo, which was making its first appearance in the state tournament.

Doyle (27-6), the second seed, was led by Taylin Underwood, who scored 29 points.
