VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Winter Show is in the midst of its annual run in Valley City.

The state’s longest-running agricultural show is in its 77th year. It got underway Tuesday and runs through the weekend.

The headline entertainer this year is country singer Joe Diffie. His concert was scheduled Friday night.

The Winter Show features agriculture shows and exhibits, a rodeo and other events ranging from a chili cook-off to a tractor pull

Two people also are being inducted into the North Dakota Agriculture Hall of Fame on Saturday - farm broadcaster Al Gustin and the late Alfred Black, a renowned soil scientist who was a longtime director of the Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory at Mandan.
