CHICAGO (AP) - Natalie Butler had 11 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high six blocks as No. 8 seed Georgetown defeated ninth-seeded Xavier 56-37 in the first round of the Big East tournament Saturday night.

Georgetown (11-20) will play top-seeded DePaul (24-6) in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

Leading 31-26 at the break, Georgetown opened the second half on an 8-0 run before Xavier’s Briana Glover scored at the 12:18 mark. The Musketeers scored only 11 points in the second half, and finished 13 of 48 from the field (27.1 percent).

Faith Woodard and Logan Battle each scored 13 points for the Hoyas, who have not won back-to-back games since winning their fourth straight on December 3.

Glover scored eight points and Aliyah Zantt added eight points with six steals to lead Xavier (8-23), which has lost 13-straight games.
