COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Kaydra Duckett scored 24 points with 12 rebounds as Dreher claimed its second Class 3A girls basketball state championship in the last three years with a 56-44 victory over Crestwood Saturday night at the Colonial Life Arena.

The Blue Devils (22-4) used a lock-down defensive early to gain control before holding on at the end. The Knights went 12:13 without a point, including the final 10:54 of the first half. They were scoreless in the second quarter, allowing Dreher to build a 27-9 lead at the half.

Crestwood (25-4) outscored the Blue Devils 17-8 in the third quarter to pull within nine points heading into the final quarter. They got as close as six but Duckett scored seven points in the final 2:32 to seal the win.

Jhileiya Dunlap and Makayla Johnson each scored 10 points for Dreher and Johnson added 14 rebounds.

Cawasha Ceasar led Crestwood with 25 points.
