MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Kayla Marosites had 23 points and 12 rebounds to help Elizabethton defeat Knoxville’s Fulton 66-52 Saturday to win the Division I Class AA girls state basketball championship.

Marosites‘ twin sister, Kelcie Marosites, added 15 points, and Sarah Robinson chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Cyclones (32-3). It is Elizabethton’s first basketball state crown.

Quay Hines scored 24 of her 26 points for Fulton (30-6) in the second half, going on her own 8-0 third-quarter run, including two 3-pointers, to whittle a 23-point lead to 40-25. Fellow freshman KeKe McKinney added 14 points but got in foul trouble.

Tourney MVP Kayla Marosites, who sank 8 of 9 free throws, had two baskets during a 12-0 run that pushed Fulton up 19-6 on her steal and layup. Emily Kiser’s second 3-pointer stretched it to 24-7.

Cannon County’s Abby Sissom, an MTSU signee, won the AA Miss Basketball award.
