PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Police in Portland, Maine are investigating an accident that seriously injured a 75-year-old pedestrian.

Authorities say the accident occurred at about 6:30 Saturday night on Forest Avenue.

The Bangor Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1egR8uu ) that a 26-year-old woman driving a 2006 Toyota struck the man as he was crossing the street.

Police say the accident remains under investigation, but added that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

They did not release the identities of the driver or the injured man.
