BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) - Whatcom County authorities say deputies will be strict about enforcing laws this summer along a stretch of the south fork Nooksack River in the Acme area popular with people floating on inner tubes.

The Bellingham Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1hhQ5fo ) the sheriff’s office announced Wednesday it will continue last year’s campaign to respond to complaints from local residents about rowdy tubers.

Last summer deputies arrested 61 people for alcohol violations, five for drunken driving and 22 for trespassing. They also wrote 75 parking tickets.
