SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - A West Texas woman on probation for the 2001 drowning of her baby while both were in a bathtub must serve 10 years in prison for the death.

The San Angelo Standard-Times (https://bit.ly/1lepa8d ) on Friday reported a judge revoked probation for 32-year-old Amanda Smith, also known as Amanda Ojeda (oh-HAY’-duh). She was arrested in Oklahoma City and transported to San Angelo in March.

Smith told police she’d been drinking when she fell asleep in the tub with her 7-month-old daughter, Nayla Rae.

Smith in 2002 pleaded guilty to manslaughter and received eight years of probation. Smith also was ordered to serve two years in prison for violating probation on a previous forgery charge.

Motions to revoke her probation were filed in 2008 and in 2011 amid drug and supervision problems.
